Annual Dick Magnum Scholarship

The ARCD established this scholarship for students that reside in the district who intend to study natural resource management or agriculture in college.  The amount of the scholarship is dependent on the funds available and the number of students that meet the criteria of the scholarship.

Amador Farm Tour

The ARCD periodically sponsors a Farm Tour in different regions of the district to provide agricultural producers with the opportunity to inform local and state officials about agricultural issues and activities.  Our intention is to keep decision makers informed of the importance of agriculture and natural resource issues in our district.

The ARCD periodically sponsors forums of public interest that deal with conversation issues. On October 6, 2008, the ARCD sponsored a candidate’s forum for all the Water Agency Board candidates with the intention of giving the candidates an opportunity to fully explain their positions and opinions about water issues in Amador County.  The forum was moderated by Mr. Giles Turner, a respected local teacher and the forum also gave county residents an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates in a non-partisan venue.
