Meath Drive Fuel Break

Meath Drive Community Action Grant (CAG) for Fuel Reduction. The ARCD administers the CAG for the Meath Drive Fuel Break. This program assists homeowners in the Dry Town area, Rancheria Creek watershed and is funded by Cal Fire.

The objective of the Meath Drive Fuel break is to reduce highly flammable fuels within 200-300 feet of Meath Drive by removing brush and some small trees that create ladder fuels.  The ladder fuels carry wildfire into the crowns of larger trees and make fire suppression very dangerous and difficult.  The fuel break work protects larger trees and is seeded with grasses so that suppression will be easier.  The result will be that in the event of a wildfire, fire suppression equipment and personnel will be able to accomplish fire suppression more effectively and safely, thereby protecting the investments of the landowners and the Rancheria Creek watershed.
